Perla Spiers, Veterinary Technician
Perla was originally born in Puerto Rico and she still has family there. She has also lived in Panama with the Amazon Jungle as her back yard. Eventually, in 1995, she moved here to Florida with her parents.
Perla came to us in 2002 as a high school student who wanted to observe the Doctor. We occasionally let students come in to observe, to see what is involved with being a veterinarian. Usually the observation period is relatively short and we do not see the students again. Perla, however, wanted to continue coming to the hospital to do volunteer work. After a period of time we decided we couldn't allow her to keep volunteering so we put her on the payroll and she eventually worked her way into a technician position.
Perla is fluent in Spanish and although Dr. Eger dabbles in Spanish it is very helpful to have someone fluent in the language to assist in translating to our Spanish speaking clients. Due to allergies in Perla's family she was not allowed to have dogs or cats but did have a pet parrot. Now that she is an adult working in a veterinary hospital, she is exposed to many dogs and cats and has to take weekly allergy shots to keep from reacting.
Through the years we have watched Perla grow up. She is married, has one boy named Silas and two dogs: Cholo and Lola.

Ashley Isaac, Veterinary Technician
Ashley began working with us in April 2016. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and is currently working toward an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology.
On days she is not working at Kindness Animal Hospital, Ashley works as a rehabilitation technician at a sea turtle hospital, providing care to sick and injured sea turtles. Her passion for wildlife developed after studying the conservation of tropical ecosystems in Belize. She worked at many wildlife rehabilitation centers up north in Wisconsin, and moved to Florida in 2014 to pursue her passion in sea turtle medicine. She enjoys working at Kindness Animal Hospital because she loves meeting new people and their animals, and educating others on animal care.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys scuba diving, and spending time with her sulcata tortoise, Calcifer, and her dog, Roscoe.
Cassie McGowen, Veterinary Technician
A proud Florida native, Cassie joined our team in April of 2016. She is currently pursuing continuing education in veterinary medicine.
Cassie keeps herself very busy fostering orhpaned animals, boating, fishing, freediving, scuba diving, spear fishing, and lobstering. She has a dog named Bentley (her fur child) and enjoys taking him for walks on the beach.
