Dr. Eger graduated from Louisiana State University in 1990. After
graduating, she began working as a relief veterinarian, where she traveled from hospital
to hospital to substitute for the resident veterinarian while they were on vacation or
just wanted a day off. This gave her a unique opportunity to see how different
veterinary hospitals were run and to see what worked and what didn't. She later
accepted a position to run a practice owned by two doctors. She did this for three
years before taking time off to look for a practice to purchase in southern Florida and
has been here since.
Dr. Eger grew up in Cliffside Park, New Jersey before moving to Louisiana
with her husband Mike. She is fluent in German (at least the Black Forest dialect)
and dabbles in Spanish. She has three dogs (Blue,
Bonnie & Clyde - all of them are mutts) and one cat (Sam).
One of the problems with being a veterinarian is that you tend to collect unwanted
animals. Of all her animals, she only went and purposely got one of them and all the
others adopted her before she could say no.
Her interests outside of work include gardening, being outdoors, hiking or
just relaxing.

When we got Sam, we were living in a trailer park in Louisiana.
There was a wild cat that kept having babies under our neighbors trailer. One day
Rose saw a very young black kitten walking in a nearby field. Thinking this was one
of the wild cat's kittens, she brought it back to our trailer and gave it to
"mom". Well mom did not want anything to do with the kitten-obviously it
wasn't hers- so she became ours.
